Exertis adds BDM for DaaS

Distributor Exertis has appointed Andy Jones as business development manager (BDM) for its Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) proposition, reporting to Rik Hubbard, Exertis, commercial and services director for mobile. Jones joins from Tech Data where he spent more than three years in a business development role. Hubbard said: “DaaS is becoming an increasingly interesting option for companies by reducing the complexity and costs of device procurement and deployment.” Read full story

ALSO buys AllThingsTalk

Distributor ALSO has acquired Internet of Things (IoT) specialist AllThingsTalk, which provides a platform to facilitate the acquisition, aggregation, visualisation and evaluation of machine and sensor data. ASUS appoints MBUZZ

Vendor ASUS has expanded its Middle East channel reach, appointing Saudi Arabia-based MBUZZ as a regional distribution partner for the Middle East. Under the terms of the agreement, MBUZZ will primarily focus on ASUS servers, workstations, mini PCs and display solutions, providing ASUS with extra focus on the enterprise channel within the region. RP tech eyes rapid lifestyle tech growth in India

Indian distributor RP tech gathered more than 100 of its sales managers from across the country to highlight the latest trends in the booming lifestyle technology sector. The seminar in Mumbai featured updates from leading brands including Audio Technica, APC, Belkin, Fitbit, Logitech, Plantronics and SanDisk. ALSO gets green light for ABC Data deal

ALSO Holding AG and MCI Euroventures, majority shareholder of ABC Data S.A., have received the unconditional consent of the European Commission for the acquisition of the Eastern European distributor by ALSO Holding AG. The Warsaw-based company is active in six Eastern European countries and generated sales of US$1.18 billion 2018. ALSO says the deal pushes it ahead with its Eastern European expansion strategy.
