Lorge lands SAP gold status

South African technology solutions provider Lorge has picked up gold partner status for SAP Business One. The new partner status was confirmed at the recent SAP PartnerEdge Awards ceremony for 2007 where Lorge was also voted a top three partner in the reseller of the year and achievement of excellence categories. Dell celebrates Retail Academy Award success

Hardware giant Dell is celebrating its success at the inaugural Middle East Retail Academy Awards, held in conjunction with Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) MEA. Dell picked up the Retail Vendor of the Year Award for Desktops / Notebooks with 32% of the votes cast during a live electronic voting session. “This is a moment of great pride and achievement for all of us,” commented Michael Collins, general manager at Dell Middle East. McAfee names Coetzee as Africa channel manager

Security software outfit McAfee has named Trevor Coetzee as channel manager for Africa. Coetzee joins McAfee from a role in the security channel space where he spent six years in a number of commercial roles. McAfee reckons that Coetzee’s background will prove valuable in his new role. TDME finalises Qimonda deal

Track Distribution Middle East (TDME) – the new incarnation of global giant Tech Data’s discarded Middle East enterprise and components business – has finalised a distribution deal for Qimonda’s Aeneon memory products covering the UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Online adds Avaya enterprise portfolio

Middle East networking VAD Online Distribution has added Avaya’s enterprise portfolio to its vendor line-up. The deal covers the entire Middle East region excluding Saudi Arabia. Online says that the deal is significant for its convergent technologies business. Emirates Computers picks up Citrix prize

Citrix has named UAE-based IT solutions provider Emirates Computers as its Middle East enterprise partner of the year. The award recognised Emirates Computers’ role in promoting Citrix solutions and also its involvement in the largest Citrix deployment in the region.
