Exertis focuses on projector opportunity

Distributor Exertis has announced the availability of Epson projectors from Exertis Medium, its Pro AV division. Epson is offering a range of products from compact entry level units to home theatre projectors and solutions for small business, public sector and corporates. Badgy confirms Ingram Micro distribution deal

Russian tech market up 17.6% in first quarter

Research house GfK’s most recent TEMAX analysis of the ICT, telecoms and consumer electronics market in Russia indicates that the total market value hit US$6.06 billion in the first quarter of 2018 – up 17.6% year-on-year. The growth was driven by a sharp increase in telecoms sales, which climbed 36% year-on-year to reach US$2.13 billion. Revenues from IT jumped 10.8% to US$556.4m with consumer electronics (CE) sales up 9.7% at US$930.4m. Read full story

Monitor brand AOC has appointed Prime Technology as an authorised distributor for its range of AOC AGON and G-series of gaming monitors in Middle East. The Middle East gaming market has been growing at a brisk pace, growing 25% in 2017 according to research company Newzoo, making it one of the fastest growing gaming markets in the world. Asbis’ category growth recognised by Intel

Emerging markets distributor Asbis picked up two awards at Intel’s recent partner connect conference held in Prague, Czech Republic. Intel picked up an award for the highest year-on-year growth in server sales in 2017 in EMEA. The distributor was also recognised for the highest year-on-year growth in SSD sales in 2017 in EMEA. Mobile device vendor HMD Global - the home of Nokia phones - has raised an additional US$100m from multiple investors to scale business operations and fund the company’s growth in its second year. AB Group doubles gaming hardware sales in Poland

Central and Eastern European (CEE) distributor AB Group’s sales hit US$505m for the third quarter of its 2017-2018 financial year. Pre-tax profits came in at US$6m with after-tax profits reaching US$2.8m for the period, which covered the first quarter of calendar 2018. This represents an after-tax profit margin of 0.55%. Gaming hardware sales more than doubled year-on-year in Poland for AB, with sales in this category climbing 62% in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the distributor. Read full story
