LS2 launches ERP arm

UAE-based LS2 has launched an ERP practice in partnership with Indian IT outfit CodeTheatre from Bangalore. The new LS2 unit, which will sell Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions in the Gulf region, will use CodeTheatre as its offshore development arm. LS2 claims that it already has a number of well-know customers signed up to implement Dynamic NAV solutions using a global delivery model. Read full story

Emirates Computers adds retail showroom

Emirates Computers (EC) has opened a new showroom in the Khalidiya Mall in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The retail outlet features the latest kit from Dell and Nokia as well as a range of IT accessories. EC will offer product demonstrations in its outlets, which it claims is a service in line with Dell and Nokia’s own concept retail outlets. Read full story

BDL bags BenQ Joybook rights in UAE

BenQ has appointed BDL as a premium distribution partner for its Joybook notebook series in the UAE. Joybook notebooks have had a tough time cracking the competitive UAE notebook market in recent years, but with BDL on board, BenQ reckons it can achieve double-digit growth in 2008 and claim a top five vendor spot in the UAE by the year-end. More than 1,000 attendees from Oracle partners in the European enlargement and CIS (EE-CIS) region showed up to find out more about how they could make the most of working with Oracle’s vast product portfolio. Log management solutions provider LogRhythm has appointed Ross Brewer as VP and managing director of its EMEA operation. Brewer’s CV includes stints at LogLogic, NetIQ and Symantec. Network Hardware Resale (NHR) has launched its NetSure maintenance programme for customers across EMEA. The company hopes to take a chunk of the services revenue that normally finds its way into vendor pockets.
