Merlion grabs Gingle rights

Russian distribution giant Merlion has struck an exclusive distribution deal with Gingle Technology to sell the vendor’s portfolio of RAM products. The products are now available to Merlion’s extensive dealer network in Russia. Under the terms of the deal, Merlion has been granted exclusive distribution rights across the entire Russian Federation and CIS countries. Read full story

Rectron signs up Samsung and Epson

South African channel giant Rectron has expanded its vendor portfolio, signing a deal with Samsung to distribute the vendor giant’s complete range of mono and colour laser printers and consumables across the country. Rectron has also struck a new distribution agreement with Epson. The deals come just weeks after HP and Rectron ended a printer distribution agreement. Read full story

Jacky’s wins mall awards

The trophy cabinet is filling up fast at UAE multi-brand retailer Jacky’s Electronics thanks to its mall-based outlets. The company picked up the ‘Best Electronics and Entertainment Store Award’ for its Jacky’s Express outlet at the Mall of the Emirates retailers’ AGM. Jacky’s Electronics also scooped the Deira City Centre mall ‘Best Electronics and Entertainment Store’ award in March. Read full story

Under the terms of the channel partnership Redington will increase the availability of i-mate products in stores and enhance resellers and retail support in the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. Satyam named SAP MENA strategic partner

Software colossus SAP has confirmed Satyam as its first strategic partner for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The deal marks the extension of an existing alliance between the two companies. Satyam will manage more than 20% of SAP’s business in the MENA under the terms of the ‘strategic services’ agreement, which is a new region-specific partnership initiative rolled out by business software provider SAP. Blouin takes on tough job at Bell

Bell Microproducts has named Marc Blouin as VP finance and chief accounting officer. In his new role Bouin will look after Bell’s accounting operations and corporate accounting functions, such as consolidations, SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Blouin faces a tough first few weeks at Bell. The company was delisted from NASDAQ last week for failing to file overdue reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Read full story
