SonicWall signs LinkQuest in Pakistan

Security solutions provider SonicWall has re-entered the Pakistan market through a tie-up with in-country distributor LinkQuest. As an authorised distributor LinkQuest will offer SonicWall’s security products and solutions to its channel partners and customers. Shahnawaz Sheikh, sales and channel director for SonicWall META & CEE, said: "Pakistan has always been a key market for us, but unfortunately during our acquisition period with Dell, we had to realign certain territories and had to let Pakistan go to APAC region. Now, as we emerge out of Dell merger, we took a conscious decision to bring Pakistan back to Middle East region and support it from Dubai.” Read full story

Distributor Tech Data has formed a specialist credit and finance solutions team to place renewed focus on helping SMB resellers increase their business. The company has transformed what used to be its credit services team into the new UK department and will be placing the emphasis firmly on the services and business enablement. StarLink extends Centrify distribution deal to Europe

D-Link has unveiled the DSP-W115 Smart Plug, along with the new mydlink app, which enables home automation functions through integration with popular smart home platforms Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Middle East tech retail channel feels VAT impact

The Middle East consumer tech retail channel has experienced a rollercoaster during the last few months, mainly due to the introduction of 5% VAT in the UAE and Saudi Arabia on the 1st January 2018. Sales in December 2017 were buoyant with many consumers choosing to purchase big-ticket items prior to the implementation. Avaya appoints Jones to UK role
