Sophos targets Middle East SMB channel

Security solutions provider Sophos has announced a new initiative for small and medium sized businesses (SMB) in the Middle East. The special training and incentive initiative for channel partners is designed to enable them to address SMBs as a focus for their go-to-market activities. Cisco appoints Al Hamaid as sales lead for Oman

Networking giant Cisco has appointed Waheed Al Hamaid as country sales lead for Oman. In his new role, Waheed will lead Cisco’s business in the Sultanate and work closely with the partner ecosystem to support private and public sector customers in their efforts to digitise and transform their operations to drive business outcomes. TechAccess names top partners of 2016

Middle East VAD TechAccess has announced the winners of its partner loyalty programme for 2016. TechAccess’ partner loyalty rewards programme recognises the outstanding achievements of partners drawn from the distributor’s network across the region. EMEA distributors identify gaming as a top consumer tech channel growth opportunity for 2017

Gaming products and gaming accessories show strong potential for growth in 2017, according to consumer tech distributors operating in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Early analysis of DISTREE EMEA’s regional consumer tech distributor survey indicates that 42% of distributors view gaming as a top three category in terms of growth potential in 2017. Marvo to expand EMEA channels for gaming kit

China-based brand Marvo will look to expand its distribution reach in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in 2017. With a comprehensive portfolio of gaming products and accessories, Marvo will attend DISTREE EMEA 2017 in February in Monaco to meet face-to-face with senior executives from the region’s leading consumer tech distributors. Fossil VP claims style will drive Middle East wearables growth

Preston Moxcey, VP at accessories manufacturer Fossil Group and GM of wearables brand Misfit, reckons that style will be the driving factor behind the growth of wearables in the Middle East market. Wearable devices may not have exploded onto the scene in the Middle East as projected by some industry quarters but, with time, they have wiggled their way into consumers’ lives. Fitness trackers and activity monitors, for example, are a common sight on wrists, and sporting a smartwatch doesn’t warrant quite as many inquisitive stares as it did some time ago. Read full story
