Distributor registration opens for DISTREE EMEA 2018

DISTREE Events has opened distributor registration for DISTREE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) 2018, which takes place in Monaco from February 6-9th. Canon strengthens presence in Kuwait

Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions, has announced a partnership with AAB World, a Kuwait-based photography company that offers a range of professional photography and videography cameras, accessories, equipment and services. Canon ties up with Extra in Saudi Arabia

Canon Middle East has signed United Electronics Company, the company behind retailer Extra, as a strategic partner for Canon office personal products (OPP) in Saudi Arabia. Extra has a strong retail presence in the GCC focused primarily on Saudi Arabia. The company also has a strong e-commerce operation and offers an expansive portfolio spanning TV, audio systems, computers, mobile phones and IT communications, cameras, home appliances and personal care products. Mobile device brand iLife Digital technology has picked up an award from Microsoft in the Middle East. iLife was recognised as a ‘Compete Partner’ of the year for 2017 for its devices designed for the Middle East’s budget concscious consumers. Optoma signs Redington Gulf as distributor

Projector brand Optoma has appointed Redington Gulf as an authorised distributor in the Gulf region. Redington will distribute Optoma’s lightweight and portable business models. Vietnam consumer tech growth continues

Research house GfK’s latest analysis of the ICT, telecoms and consumer electronics market in Vietnam indicates that the total market value grew 13.2% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2017 to hit US$2.12 billion. The strong growth was driven by sales increases in six of the seven segments that GfK tracks. Telecoms sales were up 18.3% year-on-year at US$1.07 billion. Read full story

Extra opens new Riyadh store

Saudi Arabia-based consumer tech retailer Extra, part of United Electronics Company, has opened its ninth store in Riyadh, extending its GCC retailer network to 43 stores in total. CEO Mohammed Galal said: “Our company is working according to a clear strategy for expansion, to be closer to our customers.
