South African distributor Biodata IT has added IBM’s Internet Security Systems (ISS) products to its portfolio with immediate effect. The distribution deal covers South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Lesotho. The programme offers training, certification, financial incentives, customer leads, sales collateral, support and an online demonstration centre. HDS strengthens Saudi channel

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has strengthened its channel in Saudi Arabia, signing up two new partners. The storage solutions vendor has added Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) and Business Management Company (BMC) as partners. HP brings ‘store in store’ to Middle East retail

HP has announced the official launch of its ‘store in store’ retail concept in the Middle East. The initiative, which involves setting up a dedicated space solely for HP kit within a retail outlet, has kicked off in the CompuMe outlet in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, UAE. Further HP ‘store in store’ experiences are planned for retail outlets in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt. Read full story

European network security systems provider Netasq is targeting the UK unified threat management (UTM) market with three new systems that the company claims has five times the throughput performance of traditional systems at a highly competitive price.
