WatchGuard ramps up EMEA presence

Network security solutions vendor WatchGuard has officially opened an EMEA headquarters in The Hague. The move forms part of a wider effort by WatchGuard to develop its operations in EMEA. Online adds Meru to Middle East portfolio

Value-added networking distributor Online Distribution has confirmed the addition of Meru Networks to its Middle East vendor portfolio. Meru, which offers wireless infrastructure solutions, will form part of Online’s fast-growing convergence and mobility business portfolio. Avaya appoints new worldwide channel boss

Business communications outfit Avaya has recruited Jeremy Butt to head up its worldwide channels operation. In his new role, Butt will lead the company’s channel sales organisation, developing strategies and programmes for more than 3,400 of the vendor’s systems integrator, service provider, distributor, VAR and solution provider channel around the world. 3Com names new Middle East boss

Networking vendor 3Com has named Mahmoud El-Ali as its new general manager for the Middle East. El-Ali boasts more than two decades of IT industry experience on his CV and will be based in Dubai for his new role. Brightstar launches global accessories unit

Wireless device distribution giant Brightstar has whipped the covers off its new global accessories company called Brightstar Accessories. The new unit, which will be headquartered in Miami, will focus on the procurement, marketing, sales and distribution of innovative mobile device accessories to operator, retail and dealer customers worldwide. Brightstar has named former Jabra executive Morten Steen-Jorgensen as president and CEO of the new company. Read full story
