Adaox signs Jamal Al-Jassim in Saudi Arabia

Adaox Middle East has signed Jamal Al-Jassim as a distribution partner in Saudi Arabia. Adaox Middle East is the regional business development partner for Eset’s security software offerings. Under the terms of the distribution deal Jamal Al-Jassim will push Eset’s NOD32 and Smart Security products to consumers and SMBs through its network of 30 PCNet retail outlets in the Kingdom. Cisco bets big on small business

Networking giant Cisco is stumping up US$100m to drive a new strategic initiative focised on the small business market. Cisco has set up a small business technology group (SBTG) to develop solutions for this segment. Following the unification of the Cisco and Linksys partner programmes in August 2008, the networking giant reckons that it can call on a network of more than 60,000 partners around the world capable of supporting small businesses. Logicom lands Kingston awards

Distributor Logicom has bagged a brace of Middle East distribution awards from memory vendor Kingston Technology. The awards, which were for value RAM and digital media product categories, were awared in recognition of Logicom’s growth and revenues for Kingston products in 2008. Read full story

HP Middle East named its top annual partners at its eighth annual awards evening, which took place recently in Dubai. More than 400 representatives from partners across the region attended the event. Opennet reaches out to resellers

Opennet Middle East and Africa is taking part in a Red Hat virtualisation tour during the next two months calling in at Casablanca, Cairo, Dubai and Riyadh. The reseller-focused sessions will focus on the business and technical benefits of Red Hat virtualisation solutions. Opennet is the master distributor and authorised training centre partner for Red Hat Linux products in the GCC, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Read full story

CDG signs Kace deal

Specialist distributor CDG has struck a deal with fast-growing systems management vendor Kace. Under the terms of the agreement, CDH will support Kbox, Kace’s systems management appliance, and help the vendor develop its channel partner network in the UK and Ireland. The two companies reckon that the appliance provides new business opportunities for resellers targeting midmarket organisations. Read full story

Emitac adds Logitech to portfolio

Emitac has struck a deal to distribute Logitech kit across the entire GCC, Levant and Egypt region with the exception of Saudi Arabia. The deal will see Dubai-based Emitac Distribution LLC (EDL) push Logitech’s core range of mice, keyboards, webcams, speakers and notebook accessories. The agreement also covers Logitech’s streaming media and universal remote control products. Read full story

Hitachi GST hooks up with HK

Hard drive vendor Hitachi GST has struck a deal with HK Consulting to expand the vendor’s presence in the Middle East and Africa. Working out of Dubai, HK Consulting, which is headed up by WD’s former regional boss Hafeez Khawaja, will work with Hitachi GST’s distributors, resellers and integrators to try and boost demand for the vendor’s hard drives across the region. Ingram reveals third quarter figures

Ingram Micro has announced global sales of US$8.28 billion for the third quarter ending September 27th 2008. Revenues were down 4% year-on-year from US$8.61 billion. Profits dropped 36% year-on-year to US$46.4m. EMEA third quarter sales were down 10% to US$2.86 billion despite the relative strength of European currencies causing an approximate 7% positive impact on year-to-year comparisons. Read full story
