by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 9 October 2008

Iomega has named Jan Jensen as VP sales in EMEA. In his new role Jensen will lead Imoega’s business efforts in Europe and new business development across EMEA to spearhead the vendor’s geographic expansion. Jensen’s most recent role was president of Viewsonic Europe, where he oversaw the company’s operations in EMEA.

"I am excited that Jan has joined the Iomega team," said Jonathan Huberman, President of Iomega and the consumer and small business products division at EMC. "Jan’s superb leadership skills are well-established, and he will help us in extending our already strong presence in both the consumer and SMB markets in Europe. His international experience in business-to-business and consumer sales, marketing and brand positioning is an excellent asset for Iomega."

Jensen commented: "I am very happy to be joining Iomega and look forward to being a member of the team that leads the company to the next level of success. I am enthusiastic about our products and roadmap in the consumer and small business storage markets and look forward to doing my part to grow Iomega’s leadership in markets across EMEA."

Prior to joining ViewSonic, Jensen was VP of worldwide sales channels in EMEA at Proxim Wireless Networks. Prior to his post at Proxim, Jensen held a variety of leadership roles around the globe including deputy chief operating officer for Metro International, VP of business in EMEA for Gateway and director of international channel management for Siemens Computer Systems.

Iomega, a wholly owned subsidiary of EMC Corporation, offers storage and network security solutions for small and mid-sized businesses, consumers and others.
