Acteck to drive channel growth at DISTREE Latin America
by Stuart Wilson, Monday 23 July 2012
Accessories vendor Acteck plans to expand its channel reach across Latin America. Acteck, which is based in Mexico, will attend DISTREE Latin America 2012 in September, to meet potential channel partners from across the region. With hundreds of the region’s leading ICT and consumer electronics retailers and distributors gathered in one place at one time, DISTREE Latin America provides participating vendors with a unique opportunity to pre-schedule an agenda of one-on-one meetings with both potential and existing channel partners.
Acteck splits its product portfolio into six families: Work IT, Live IT, Move IT, Link IT, Play IT and Equip IT. The Work IT range includes power supply units, mice and keyboards while the Live IT family comprises speakers, headphones, earphones, Bluetooth technology gadgets and webcams. The Move IT family is a range of accessories for laptops and smartphone and Link IT includes cables, adapters, hubs and card readers. Play IT is Acteck’s range of gaming accessories. The Equip IT range includes maintenance, cleaning and protection accessories.
Acteck has been operating in Mexico for more than a decade and is a leading brand in the multimedia accessories space. DISTREE Latin America will allow it to make contact with top retailers from across the region as it looks to expand its channel reach.
“Our quality, variety, design, innovation and price makes us the best option in technology accessories,” said Alejandro Soriano, marketing director at Acteck. “Each month we develop and bring new products to our clients to maintain an innovative portfolio. Our clients recommend the best options for the highest profit and benefits. We are now presenting a new urban and customised collection with a great concept and looking for Latin America representatives.”
Acteck is looking to develop its routes-to-market in a number of countries across Central and South America. Top of the vendor’s country targets for channel expansion are Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Peru, Honduras, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica.
“Acteck offers a balance between quality, design and price,” said Soriano. “Our sales policies assure the best business [for partners] with high profits for our clients. Our product and package design as well as our image and marketing support encourages partners to work with us.”
“We are already a leading brand in Mexico and expanding into Central American markets. We have an efficient logistics infrastructure that allows us to have the best prices and short delivery time. We detect [market] needs and convert them into opportunities by designing products for each market,” Soriano added.
The Acteck channel programme offers support in terms of training, point-of-sales materials, marketing support and rebates.
“We have below the line (BTL) and above the line (ATL) campaigns to activate the brand in each country,” added Soriano. “Depending on the amount of the purchase, distributors can also access a marketing budget for activities and to generate demand. We have at least two global promotions each year and our marketing team can adapt special promotions for each client.”
Acteck is transforming its packaging and image to enhance consumer perception of the brand. During the next 12 months the vendor plans to launch more mobility products for smartphones, tablets and laptops. The company continues to enjoy double digit year-on-year percentage sales growth.
“We are recognised for our loyalty to the channel,” explained Soriano. “We have strict policies to avoid unfair competition and price issues. We have sold our products to the Mexico’s biggest channel partners for more than a decade.”
“We are planning to start selling our products in each Latin American country during the next year,” Soriano added. “We are looking for loyal partners that can help us achieve our commercial goals.”
Acteck operates distribution centres in both Mexico and China allowing channel partners to take advantage of a highly efficient logistics set-up. Having built up a powerful position in the Mexican market, Acteck hopes to replicate this success across Latin America. This year’s DISTREE Latin America will provide the ideal platform for Acteck to achieve its channel development goals.
