X-cite launches blog
by Stuart Wilson, Monday 23 July 2012
Kuwaiti retail giant Alghanim Electronics has launched a new technology blog for its X-cite chain of stores. The X-cite blog will provide a platform for product reviews, recommendations and information exchanged between the retailer and consumers. The launch forms part of X-cite’s ongoing social media efforts spanning a number of platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest.
The retailer claims that social media is helping to drive use of the www.xcite.com portal and expanding customer reach. The X-cite blog is available at www.xciteblog.com.
Ali Maaz, head of product and sales at www.xcite.com, said: "X-cite believes in an era where companies differentiate themselves based on superior customer experience through different channels. The X-cite blog is an effective platform for communicating and reaching out to anybody interested in consumer electronics and home appliances. It gives us an interactive and engaging platform that helps us serve our customers better."
The blog will announce new products that are available through www.xcite.com as well as the various ongoing promotions and discounts. X-cite customers can use the blog to read comments on different products before deciding whether to purchase online. The X-cite blog aims at attracting and developing a regular audience through constant and freshly updated content.
Jacky’s turns 42
X-cite is not the first electronics retailer in the region to set up a dedicated blog (even if it claimed it was in the company’s PR). UAE-based Jacky’s Electronics was an early adopter of social media in the region and continues to reach out to customers in this way. The latest entry on Jacky’s blog explains how the company has just celebrated its 42nd anniversary since the company was first set up in Hong Kong back in 1970.
