Nexus is getting ready to attend DISTREE Latin America this September, as the vendor prepares to develop new routes-to-market across the fast-growing region. Nexus plans to focus on its range of LCD, LED and plasma TV mounts. DISTREE Latin America gathers the region’s top ICT and consumer electronics (CE) distributors and retailers together in one place at one time, providing a convenient and cost-effective channel development platform for vendors looking to launch, build or manage routes-to-market within the region.

Andrew Mee, Nexus retail sales and marketing director for Asia Pacific, said: “TV mounts are a huge opportunity for incremental sales and margin due to the consumer hunger for them. Some 60% of TVs sold are mounted on the wall and given the movement from CRT to newer flat panel TVs, this will result in large incremental sales opportunities.”

Nexus will use its participation at DISTREE Latin America to speak to distribution and retail partners from across the region. The event will also serve as a brand building exercise for Nexus as it looks to further enhance its reputation across Latin American markets.

With over 60 years’ experience, the Nexus Industries brands of BG Electrical, Masterplug and Ross are market leaders in key electrical categories. The company’s global sales are in excess of US$100m per annum.

Nexus is continually evolving its product ranges to align to market trends. The vendor’s retail ranges focused on consumer and in-store requirements

“Our products are suitable for all channels and geographical areas due to the nature of the products. They are borderless and will appeal to anyone with a LCD, LED or plasma TV,” said Mee.

“Our products are margin rich for the retailer and distributors,” he added. “Our proposition is different to the competitors as we have a well-established global brand coupled with European product and packaging design.”

Nexus operates its own factory giving it significant advantages over other brands and enabling it to offer competitive margins to partners. The company also offers extensive sales and marketing support.

“We provide marketing assistance in the form of free stands and posters to promote the brand in store. In addition, we also offer full planogramming capabilities, promotional planograms and multi-language packaging as standard. It is all designed to drive sales,” explained Mee. Nexus has already seen strong Latin American growth in markets such as Ecuador and Chile. The company is now keen to replicate this success elsewhere in the region.

“Our [Latin Americam] business has doubled in the last 12 months, which we believe is due to our European design, global brand values, the quality of our manufacturing and our cost competitiveness,” commented Mee.

“Our experience allows us to understand each channels needs and allows us to tailor the approach to maximise sell through. Our ultimate goal is to enable our partners through effective product selection and marketing materials to provide significant incremental sales and margins in this area,” he added.

Nexus has four offices around the world and its own factory in China manufacturing solely for the company. Nexus employs nearly 2000 people worldwide and, according to Mee, the company’s localised sales and marketing initiatives are designed to allow partners to maximise both sales and margins.
