Bytes launches NetApp business in UAE

South Africa’s Bytes Technology Group has launched a storage business unit in the UAE focused on pushing NetApp solutions. Bytes is currently NetApp’s largest partner in Africa and has extensive experience in enterprise storage and data solutions. Bytes new venture in the Middle East is supported by regional distributor Aptec, which has worked closely with NetApp for several years.
“The market for storage is showing tremendous growth in this part of the world, and we are excited about leveraging our NetApp relationship to drive solutions in the UAE market,” said Rodney Barrell, managing director at Bytes Emirates. “We have developed a wide range of offerings in this space which add value to our customers, ranging from pro-active monitoring solutions to full storage infrastructure managed services offerings, and now is a great time to be introducing these to the local market”.
NetApp offers storage and data management solutions designed to deliver cost efficiency and accelerate business breakthroughs. Martyn Molnar, managing director at NetApp Middle East, said: “Bytes brings enterprise experience and credibility to the Middle East market, and we look forward to working with them to further serve our customers in the region.”
Govind Haridas, business unit manager for security and storage at Aptec, added: “It is great for us to be working with a reseller of the size and calibre of Bytes.
