Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) is one of hundreds of brands that will be represented at next week’s DISTREE Russia & CIS event, giving the company’s executives an opportunity to meet major channel partners from across the fast-growing region. Otto Hinteregger, general manager for sales at TEE, said: “The event is an opportunity to strengthen business relationships with our current partners.”

Hinteregger continued: “DISTREE Russia & CIS also allows us to build relationships in this growing territory with potential partners. We will also be able to share details and discuss our new products and the local strategy.”

TEE is the European electronic components business of Toshiba Corporation. TEE offers one of the industry’s broadest IC and discrete product lines including high-end memory, microcontrollers, ASICs and ASSPs for automotive, multimedia, industrial, telecoms and networking applications. The company also has a wide range of power semiconductor solutions.

“Due to our broad product range and reputation for quality and service, our products are used in endless applications where storage plays a vital role,” added Hinteregger. “Therefore, the diversity of market segments we are involved in ensures that we are an essential storage provider and partner in all major geographic areas. We rely on our business partnerships in Russia. We are positioned to grow with the dynamic emerging markets which are an essential part of the EMEA business landscape.”

Toshiba Europe’s storage products division (SPD) will showcase its products and solutions at DISTREE Russia & CIS.

“Toshiba has remained at the forefront of the storage industry for over 40 years and is the world’s only storage supplier that owns design, development, manufacturing, sales and other infrastructure functions spanning the enterprise, mobile and retail environments for both HDD and SSD products. Customers are OEMs, system integrators and distributors within the EMEA region,” explained Hinteregger.

“As a ‘one-stop’ storage device supplier Toshiba fulfils the demand for a wider range of storage devices from consumer electronics market to IT markets. Furthermore, Toshiba SPD is a committed vendor to our select retailers,” he added. “We believe in mutual respect, listening to what our local partners are saying, exchanging ideas and cultivating a profitable business environment.”

SPD offers a structured channel programme as well as a palate of tools and services to help partners stay focused, on track and be profitable.

“We offer a wide variety of support and incentives to create a pull, thereby, generating and driving business to our selected distribution partners. We also provide full marketing support in terms of joint promotion, push-pull initiatives and co-branding,” explained Hinteregger.

Toshiba recently expanded its HDD business and technology to the enterprise market with new products and solutions. In 2011 the company introduced Solid State Drives (SSD) for servers and enterprise storage systems.

“We have just realigned our European storage products businesses in a unified organisation by merging the Toshiba Semiconductor Company and Storage Products Company in a new in-house organisation, Semiconductor & Storage Products Company. This strategic reorganisation will place three key storage device business lines — HDD, SSD and other solid state memories, including memory cards, and NAND flash memories — in a closely focused operating structure that will facilitate more efficient product development and sales,” said Hinteregger.

In May 2012 Toshiba completed the acquisition of certain 3.5” HDD manufacturing equipment and related intellectual property from WD. The acquisition positioned Toshiba to start sales of 3.5” HDDs for desktop PCs and DVD recorders and to enhance supply of near-line HDDs for servers - a market segment that is expected to grow with the server market.

“Besides always being attentive to our partners, we are a dedicated team with a personable attitude,” said Hinteregger. “We are centralised in location but localised in our approach to each market by providing the right information, tools set and transparency for our partners. In addition, we will strengthen our sales support in the Russian market with additional sales resources for this region.”

“Toshiba HDDs and SSDs are at the heart of nearly every application in today’s digital world, from media players, in-car infotainment to mobile consumer electronic devices,” Hinteregger concluded.
