African distributor Mitsumi held a Toshiba channel event in Ethiopia earlier this month. The event, which took place on the 5th June in Addis Ababa, saw more than 150 channel executives attend to hear more about Toshiba’s latest products in the PC market segment. During the event, Mitsumi outlined the Toshiba product roadmap to channel partners and discusses solution selling and go-to-market strategies.
Satyen Chokshi, business unit manager at Mitsumi Distribution, said: “Ethiopia is an important market for Mitsumi. I’m very proud of the success this event has achieved, and that we were able to deliver to our channel partners exceptional presentations and training to help them.”
“Mitsumi believe that our partners are our main strength in this region. We will make every effort to help them increase profitability by empowering them with knowledge, skills and support,” Chokshi added.
Mitsumi showcased the latest Toshiba models including the Toshiba Qosmio F750, C850 and Z830 laptops. Mitsumi is keen to increase the number of African channel partners it supplies and communicate the benefits of supply through an authorized distribution channel.
Nelo Neves, African regional manager at Toshiba PSG, said: “We are excited to launch our new product range to the market and look forward to working with Mitsumi in educating our channel partners about our products. Toshiba will continue delivering the same innovative technologies that have made the Toshiba brand so famous internationally.”
150-strong Mitsumi entered distribution in 2009 and its vendor portfolio now includes Dell, Toshiba, HP, Microsoft, Acer, Samsung, BenQ and Tripplite. Mitsumi is headquartered in Keyna with presence in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, DRC, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Zambia and Mozambique. The distributor also operates a strategic hub in Jebel Ali, UAE.
