Brightpoint and Foxconn strike EMEA alliance
by Stuart Wilson, Friday 27 April 2012
Wireless device distributor Brightpoint has formed a strategic alliance with Foxconn Global Services Division (GSD) to provide technical aftermarket services to both existing and new customers in the EMEA region. The alliance will aim to deliver refurbishment and remanufacturing services and, by using Brightpoint’s extensive channels and global reach, devices will be introduced into new or developing markets at a vastly reduced cost.
"Our strategic alliance with Foxconn GSD combines their world-class technical capabilities with Brightpoint’s localised suite of end-to-end supply chain and customisation solutions, meaning we can offer the wireless device industry a tangible solution to the long-running problem of fragmented and inconsistent reverse logistics,” said Anurag Gupta, Brightpoint’s EMEA president. “Customers will experience a premium service, as well as a premium level of refurbished device quality, maximising the value of the assets in circulation.”
Together, Brightpoint and Foxconn GSD hope to jointly deliver a fully integrated device lifecycle solution including inventory management of devices and spares; localised and regional returns management; repair and return services; triage and disposition, product fulfilment and product recycling
“The partnership with Brightpoint is part of the Foxconn GSD EMEA growth strategy to deliver a world-class optimised solution to existing and new customers with a focus on quality and cost and delivery,” said Henk Knoop, VP at Foxconn GSD EMEA. “This alliance will enhance the customer experience with Brightpoint’s improved logistics services complemented by our strong technical competence and material management capabilities.”
