AVG gains Microsoft competency

by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 26 June 2008

Internet security vendor AVG Technologies has attained gold certified status in the Microsoft partner programme with a competency in ISV/software solutions. To make it to the gold status AVG demonstrated expertise in Microsoft technologies and a proven ability to meet customers’ needs. As a gold partner AVG gets a number of benefits including enhanced training and support from Microsoft.

"We are extremely pleased to have achieved gold certified status in the Microsoft partner programme,“ said J.R. Smith, CEO at AVG Technologies. “It clearly shows our customers and business partners the high degree of expertise our people have in the use and support of Microsoft tools and platforms. Everyone gains from this recognition.”

AVG offers a range of internet security products for home users and small to medium sized businesses (SMB). The Microsoft ISV/software solutions competency recognises the skill and focus partners bring to a particular solution set. Microsoft gold certified partners that have obtained this competency have a successful record of developing and marketing packed software based on Microsoft technologies.

Founded in 1991 in the Czech Republic, AVG now claims to protect more than 70 million computer users around the world. The company has offices in UK, mainland Europe and North America. AVG’s products are distributed globally through resellers and over the internet as well as via third parties through software development kits (SDKs).
