UK-based distributor Westcoast has struck a distribution deal with Sandisk covering the memory vendor’s USB flash drives and new Extreme solid state drives (SSDs). Westcoast claims that the deal will strengthen its position in the storage market allowing it to capitalise on the already established and widely recognised Sandisk brand.
Alex Tatham, sales and marketing director at Westcoast, said: "We are very pleased to be working with Sandisk and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership. This relationship is an extension of our strategy to provide resellers and their customers with more choice. In return, Westcoast offers Sandisk proven expertise in helping partners to extend their reach into new market segments within the business-to-business sector."
Mark Pini, marketing manager at Sandisk, added: "Our partnership with Westcoast reinforces our objective to expand our product reach in the UK and Ireland using the channel. The complete range of SanDisk products will now be available to a wider market through the established network of Westcoast resellers and this decision is a significant development in Sandisk’s channel presence. "
Eddie Wardlaw, storage media product manager at Westcoast, commented: "Westcoast has a widespread distribution network in the UK and Ireland, strong infrastructure and expertise, which will help Sandisk to enhance its market presence and capitalise on new revenue generating opportunities while accelerating our mutual success.”
Westcoast sells to resellers, retailers and dealers in the UK and Ireland providing credit, marketing and logistics services to over 5,000 customers. The company employs more than 400 staff.
