Sharrocks grabs EMEA consumer role

by Stuart Wilson, Monday 16 June 2008

Lee Sharrocks has been appointed VP consumer sales at Symantec EMEA. In his new position Sharrocks will take responsibility for building Symantec’s Norton consumer business across all channels including retail, online, through partners and also by exploring new delivery mechanisms.

Sharrocks succeeds Kevin Chapman as VP EMEA consumer sales after Chapman was promoted to VP consumer sales worldwide. Sharrocks was previously director of consumer sales for Northern Europe and emerging markets, which included the UK, Nordics, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Middle East and Africa, and has been with Symantec for six years.

“Symantec is ideally positioned to retain its global leadership in the security category and has recently outlined its zero-impact security performance goals for the new 2009 line-up of Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus,” said Sharrocks.

“Symantec’s technology and innovation continue to clearly differentiate us from our competition and I am delighted to take on the challenge of leading Symantec’s consumer business in EMEA as we redefine the market,” he added.
