Packed agenda at DITCF 2011

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 10 June 2011

DISTREE IT Channel Forum (DITCF) Russia & CIS has confirmed a packed agenda for its 2011 event taking place later this month in St. Petersburg. More than 500 channel executives will attend the three-day event, including representatives from 75-plus vendors and 200 channel partners. The DITCF agenda includes a keynote speech from GfK, channel updates from major vendors, awards and evening functions.

DITCF 2011 will take place from 22nd to 24th June at the Radisson Pribaltiyskaya Hotel in St. Petersburg. Dell will participate as a platinum sponsor at DITCF with Sony and Toshiba both confirmed as gold sponsors.

“This year’s event will provide the perfect platform for interaction between vendors, distributors, retailers and resellers working in the region’s ICT and consumer electronics (CE) channel,” commented Frederic Simard, president and co-founder at DISTREE Events, the organisers behind DITCF.

“Through a compelling combination of one-on-one meetings, keynote speeches, awards, boardroom sessions and a programme of evening entertainment, DITCF offers delegates unique and powerful insight into the past, present and future challenges and opportunities in the Russia & CIS channel.“

The Live@DITCF conference sessions will see major vendors present their channel strategy and product roadmaps to delegates. Vendors participating in Live@DITCF include AMD, FSP, Iomega, Kaspersky, Manhattan, Navteq and Toshiba.

On the morning of Thursday 23rd June, Dr. Rudi Aunkofer, global director IT at GfK Retail & Technology, will deliver a keynote speech titled ‘High-Technology Markets in 2011: Assortment is Key’. This session will provide DITCF delegates with an overview of some of the latest market data as Dr. Aunkofer explores a new dimension of opportunities driven by the digital evolution and mobile usage patterns.

The high-technology sector faces more atomistic demand patterns in both the business and consumer markets. Dr. Aunkofer’s presentation will focus on the opportunities for the channel and distribution to deal with this digital evolution, driving understanding of the importance of assortment and the impact of changing usage models such as the cloud.

Delegates will also have the chance to attend an evening session on Thursday 23rd June moderated by Marina Nikitina, deputy director of business development at distributor Treolan and channel consultant Ryan Mackey. This session will also include feedback from discussion groups held earlier in the day covering topical issues such as the growth of e-commerce channels, the M&A climate, changing demand patterns and the market outlook for the Russia & CIS region.

More than 1,500 pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings have already been arranged between delegates at DITCF 2011, driving the process of channel development in the Russia & CIS region. DITCF is now firmly established as the premier channel event in the Russia & CIS region.

“The Russia & CIS market has come through a turbulent few years and emerged stronger, more vibrant and more dynamic than ever before. DITCF offers a unique and powerful business development opportunity for all vendors looking to launch, build or manage channels across this vast region,” concluded Simard.
