The 16th annual DISTREE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), begins in Monaco on February 6th, 2018. This year’s keynote line-up includes presentations from Event Partner GfK, Content Partners CONTEXT and Futuresource, plus consultant Ryan Mackey. As the region’s largest independent hosted buyer event for the consumer tech channel, DISTREE EMEA unites hundreds of consumer tech brands, distributors, retailers and e-tailers in one place at one time.

In addition to pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings between delegates, DISTREE EMEA also includes an extensive conference programme, featuring keynote speeches from some of the channel’s leading research houses and consultancies. The full line-up of keynotes taking place at DISTREE EMEA 2018 is listed below:

GfK: Step into a Future of Infinite Opportunities - How Digital Transformation is Affecting the Supply Chain & Retail

Presented by Gernot Teufel, Global Director IT & Distribution, GfK. Manufacturers, retailers and consumers are spoilt for choice as fascinating new products and services are being developed all the time: digital assistants, drones, 3D printers, robots, virtual reality…and they are connected through the Internet of Things (IoT). Join Gernot Teufel as he shares exclusive insights from GfK’s research. Find out how to capitalise on what’s going on in this environment and understand where the risks and the opportunities are. Wednesday 7th February 17:30-18:00

• Retail Roundup - Top 5 Trends to Watch

Presented by consultant Ryan Mackey. Which retail trends will make the list the year? Change is the only constant in business. Keep an eye on the trends that hold the potential to upend the consumer technology retail business. This fast-paced session will open up new retail perspectives, providing innovative ideas to delegates at every stage of the consumer tech channel. Thursday 8th February 09:20-09:40

Futuresource: The European CE Retail Landscape - Opportunities & Challenges

Presented by Simon Bryant, Director of Research, Futuresource Consulting. The European consumer electronics (CE) retail landscape continues to face challenges on many fronts, chief among them the sheer pace of change. The CE retail market in Europe has lost €30 billion (US$37.4 billion) in value over the last five years, while the traditional retail sector has lost almost one third of channel share, to new largely digital-based channels including direct and pureplay online players. The market prospects from 2018 are expected to improve, and the changing landscape will present opportunities as well as further challenges to incumbents. Thursday 8th February 09:40-10:00

CONTEXT: Disruption & Differentiation in the Distribution Industry

Presented by Adam Simon, Global Managing Director, CONTEXT. Distribution has always been fast to adapt, looking for new ways to add value to vendors, retailers and now e-tailers. In his keynote Adam Simon will look at the challenges faced by distributors today, and how they can remain one step ahead of the changes. There is no one solution, but it is clear success will be there for the differentiated distributor: making vendors successful at different stages of the product lifecycle, innovating with new services and providing strategic partnership to retailers to help them to thrive. Thursday 8th February 10:00-10:30

Liam McSherry, Marketing Director for DISTREE Events, commented: “As an independent event for the consumer tech channel ecosystem, we value the contribution from all our speakers to the conference programme. The opportunity to hear multiple perspectives on current market trends, and access the latest channel research, adds significant value to the overall delegate experience.”
