Comet ‘buoyant’ on floating smartphone demand

Comet will showcase ‘the world’s first buoyant smartphone’ at this week’s DISTREE EMEA event in Monaco, bringing distributors from across the region up to speed on the product’s features and technology.

Comet has been working on testing and manufacturing processes for the last 12 months and is now ready to build out its routes-to-market.

A pre-order campaign resulted in orders from 42 countries and interest from distributors in Europe, Asia and North America. In total, Comet has already secured orders for 500,000 devices, according to the vendor.

Prashant R Urs, founder and CEO at Comet, said: “We want the distributors [at DISTREE EMEA] to know we will essentially be ready to go to market in the summer and just need to set up our sales channel and distribution network in different regions.”

The Comet smartphone is fully buoyant and floats on water. The vendor is on the lookout for distribution partners across the entire EMEA region.

Urs added: “Our products are going to push the smartphone industry to a new level and encourage all the big companies to merge with us. Our channel proposition is unique as there really are no direct competitors.”

“Our product introduces a new technology for the first time in the world. We have a product which will create its own niche and can also create worldwide appeal as it is a universal product with revolutionary features,” he added.

Comet is finalising plans for a structured channel programme. The company claims that it offers a great margin proposition for partners and is ready to assist them with brand awareness and market positioning as required.

“We have worked on marketing for our pre-order campaign, we have a strong marketing team and we have over 10 million views on social media and we are featured on 1000-plus articles,” added Urs. “In addition, we will provide potential branding and marketing material of high standards, which can be taken into all regions and then tailored based on culture and local requirements.”

“Comet will be bringing multiple products to market and our roadmap will allow us to put more products into the hands of distributors, with attractive margins to ensure they make the most possible on our products, and create a thriving relationship,” Urs concluded.

Distributors and channel partners confirmed to attend DISTREE EMEA can pre-schedule one-on-one meetings with Comet at this year’s event.
