Redington picks up retail distribution accolade

by Stuart Wilson, Monday 2 June 2008

Redington Gulf picked up the coveted Retail Distributor of the Year prize at the recent Middle East Retail Academy Awards, held in conjunction with Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East and Africa. During a live voting session, Redington picked up 37% of votes cast to take the prize. The four other nominees for the prize – as selected by an executive committee of 20 retailers prior to the live voting at the ceremony – were Delta, Emitac, ITE and Source IT.

Ashok Veeraragavan, sales director at Redington Gulf, said: “We are extremely happy to receive Retail Distributor of the Year Award in its very first year. This award is a manifestation of our strong presence in the retail segment. We are today one of the most preferred distributors in the Middle East and Africa region. Our unique selling proposition of wide product portfolio backed by unmatched customised value added service and support for each of our partners is a win-win for all.”

Redington Gulf initial nomination for the Retail Distributor of the Year Award was based on a number of criteria including customer satisfaction, sales growth, profitability, vendor relations, innovations and service levels.

Redington Gulf is one of the leading and fastest growing IT distributors in the Middle East and Africa region. Redington Gulf has a strong presence in 18 markets, and is associated with 24 leading global IT and telecom brands, with over 4,200 channel partners. Redington’s client portfolio includes major vendors such as Acer, Canon, HP, IBM, Samsung, Toshib and WD

DCC MEA – the event held alongside the inaugural Middle East Retail Academy Awards - is the ultimate professional networking event for senior executives from the consumer electronics, digital device and ICT products retail channel in the Middle East & Africa (MENA) region.
