TP-Link plans South African channel roadshow

Networking vendor TP-Link is teaming up with distributor partner Corex for a South African channel roadshow. The series of channel events will focus on promoting TP-Link’s new networking solutions and mobile device. TP-Link will also launch its new SMB partner programme at the channel events, which are taking place in three cities across South Africa.

The roadshow forms part of TP-Link’s 2016 strategy to outline its roadmap for the second half of the year and introduce new products in the networking and mobile devices space. The roadshow will kick off in Johannesburg on 21st June, with events on 22nd and 23rd June 2016 in Durban and Cape Town respectively.

Will Liu, general manager Africa at TP-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said: “We have decided to host a multi-city roadshow with our distributor Corex to strengthen our channel business in South Africa and to use the events to introduce new products in the networking and mobile devices space.”

Liu added: “We have dominated the small office home office (SOHO) networking space in MEA and now we are ready to replicate that success by upping our momentum in the SMB segment with the right products targeting this sought after market vertical.”

Despite the challenges in the PC sector, the networking sector across MEA has continued to grow and South Africa has been one of the top performing markets for TP-Link in the region.

Liu added: "The [South African] market is open and any brand has a chance to do business and succeed in South Africa. What has made TP-Link experience rapid acceptance of the brand is our commitment to developing quality products that are backed by our own manufacturing and R&D centres across the globe."

He concluded: "We are aiming to gain rapid acceptance and success of our product offerings in partnership with the entire channel ecosystem that works with us.”

New SMB Channels event

SMB Channels Middle East, organised by DISTREE Events, will launch in Dubai in 2017. The new two-day event will bring together 300 executives from the region’s leading resellers of IT solutions focused on serving small and medium businesses (SMBs). More than 60 vendors and value-added distributors (VADs) are set to showcase their solutions and services in the main exhibition area at SMB Channels Middle East.
