Qurius confirms Bindar buy plan
by Stuart Wilson, Friday 30 May 2008
Netherlands-based Microsoft partner Qurius has confirmed its intention to snap up Spanish outfit Bindar. The two companies have signed a letter of intent for the proposed deal. 80-strong Bindar is one of the main Microsoft Dynamics partners in Spain and posted 2007 sales of US$9.15m.
Qurius will stump up six times Bindar’s 2008 pre-tax earnings to buy the Spanish outfit. The two companies aim to conclude the transaction by September 1st 2008.
“Joining forces with Qurius means that I have ensured a stable future base for my customers and employees as part of my planned succession,” said Joaquin M. Alonso, Bindar’s managing director.
Qurius holds a strong position in the Spanish market but believes that bringing Bindar on board will give the company an extra edge. “However, by [an] increase in scale we will be able to better respond to the market and to improve the company’s margins,” said Tom Stolk, a Qurius director with responsibility for international operations.
“Bondar delivers the same core Microsoft-based integrated business solutions as Qurius does, but, having customers in different industries, they complement the Qurius business. By combining both companies, Qurius Spain will be the absolute number one in the Spanish market,” Stolk added.
Bindar has been active in the Spanish retail market for more than 18 years, carrying out more than 500 implementations. Qurius provides architecture, realisation and systems management of Microsoft technology based business and IT solutions, including infrastructures.
Qurius has over 1,000 staff members; its headquarters are located in Zaltbommel, the Netherlands. Its offices in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom serve over 2,800 clients.
