DISTREE Middle East invites consumer technology channel to submit applications for MERA initiative awards

DISTREE Events has confirmed a deadline of Sunday May 1st to enter the four submission-based awards, which form part of the ‘Middle East Retail Academy (MERA): 2016 Awards’ taking place at next month’s DISTREE Middle East. The annual MERA Awards, taking place for the 9th consecutive year in 2016, celebrate excellence in the region’s technology and consumer electronics (CE) retail channel. The four categories are:

In-Store Experience of the Year – CLICK TO ENTER

Customer Promotion of the Year – CLICK TO ENTER

Product Launch of the Year – CLICK TO ENTER

Marketing Initiative of the Year – CLICK TO ENTER

All vendors, distributors, retailers and e-tailers operating in the Middle East are eligible to submit an entry for any or all of the four submission-based awards. Companies can submit their entry packs online. All entries will be evaluated by a VIP Jury of independent channel experts during DISTREE Middle East 2016, with the winners announced at the event’s Gala Dinner on Wednesday May 11th in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Farouk Hemraj, Director and Co-Founder at DISTREE Events, said: “We encourage all retailers, e-tailers, distributors and vendors to submit entries for these awards. It is a fantastic opportunity for marketing and PR teams to showcase a company’s achievements during the last 12 months.”

The Gala Dinner at DISTREE Middle East celebrates the innovation and creativity that continues to drive the evolution of the regional retail channel for consumer technology products.”

Last year’s awards saw Virgin Megastore collect the In-Store Experience of the Year award for its outlet at Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi. Acer received the Marketing Initiative of the Year accolade for a bloggers outreach project in Saudi Arabia; while Emax claimed the Product Launch of the Year award for its iPhone 6 launch in UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Customer Promotion of the Year award was a tie with AJM Kooheji recognised for its CTRONIQ F1 tickets promotion in Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia’s eXtra sharing the accolade for its successful mega sale event.

DISTREE Middle East 2016 is a trade-focused event that unites consumer technology brands with the regional go-to-market ecosystem.
