Lime Concepts drives retail growth through innovation

by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 7 April 2016

Dubai-based consumer technology distributor Lime Concepts reckons that portfolio innovation is vital for retailers looking to maintain sales growth. Dushyant Nagpal, managing partner at Lime Concepts, stated: “Retailers should work with us because we not only bring great products [to market]; we add new categories. We have been pioneers in kids tech products and can proudly claim the widest range of products in the category - including tablet cases, volume limiting headphones, Disney licenced tech products, gaming toothbrush accessories and more.”

Lime Concepts will showcase its growing vendor portfolio to top retailers and e-tailers at next month’s DISTREE Middle East channel event, which takes place from May 10-12 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event gives consumer technology brands and distributors the chance to hold pre-scheduled meetings with buyers and senior executives from the regional retail channel.

Expanding reach

“Lime Concepts is focused on innovative new products,” added Nagpal. “Our main products include Tabzoo tablet accessories for kids, Tangram’s new smart skipping rope, Dog and Bone smart locks, Aston Martin home audio and Moshi bags – that’s just part of a whole range of unique brands.”

“DISTREE Middle East provides a great platform for us to meet retailers and launch new products. We hope to highlight our new products like the smart rope and the Disney products ange that will be launched simultaneously with movies this year,” he added.

Lime Concepts is actively expanding its reach across GCC countries. The company is able to supply to retailers of different sizes and scales.

“Lime Concepts aims to be the preferred distribution partner for all retailers. We work closely with retailers to understand their needs and are willing to adapt to changing trends in the market. We bring new innovative products in categories like fitness, home automation and kids tech among others. Our distribution model is focused on sellout from stores and we support retailers with marketing, merchandisers, BTL activities and display solutions,” explained Nagpal.

He continued: “Retailers don’t offer much choice when it comes to their requirement of a strong margin proposition or channel programme. Having said that, we are flexible and we can meet the requirements of different channels and retailers. Each retailer has its own requirement and their systems are a lot more rigid - we understand that.”

Kuwait expansion

The Lime Concepts team is capable of handling a wide range of marketing needs including providing merchandisers, POS stands, customised artwork, planning product launches, in-store activities and promotions.

“We design the marketing plan for each retailer and product based on their customer profile and store positioning,” explained Nagpal. “Our POS presence is evident across the region with space rentals and POS stands in many different retailers and stores. We have an extensive in-store merchandising team across the UAE and Qatar and we are currently in the process of expanding with merchandisers in Saudi and Kuwait.”

Lime Concepts experienced strong sales growth in 2016 and also expanded its vendor portfolio. In 2016 the distributor plans to open an office in Kuwait and strengthen its sales team across the region.

“The retail environment is consistently becoming more competitive. We believe constantly changing and updating our product offering to meet the demands of the end consumers is essential for growth,” stated Nagpal.

“We are flexible and can adapt to the requirements of different channels. We are hungry for business and we approach all channels with equal zest and enthusiasm,” he concluded.

Retailers and e-tailers attending DISTREE Middle East can request meetings with the Lime Concepts team through their web account.
