Office 1 Gulf confirmed for DISTREE Middle East

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 1 April 2016

This year’s DISTREE Middle East event on 10-12th May 2016 will see retailers and e-tailers from across the region gather in Abu Dhabi for three days of one-on-one meetings and professional networking with consumer technology brands. Retailer Office 1 Gulf is confirmed to attend and keen to talk to brands looking to further develop their business in the Qatari market.

Mohammad Hammad, IT sales manager at Office 1 Gulf, said: “Office 1 Gulf has been one of the IT market leaders in Qatar since 2006, with a wealth of experience providing IT solutions for customers at various levels.”

Office 1 Gulf’s customer base spans from individual consumers through to enterprise-level government departments. The company has a strong reputation in printing and scanning solutions and was recognised by Epson as an outstanding partner in Qatar for 2015. Office 1 partners with a number of leading brands including Samsung, Lenovo, HP, Apple and Fujitsu plus many more.

Hammad said: “We want to meet senior executives from our existing vendors at DISTREE Middle East and we will also be on the lookout for new business opportunities. The event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about retail market development and challenges in the Middle East region.”

Office 1 Gulf is interested in developing its portfolio of lifestyle and wearable technologies, especially products that are compatible with Apple devices. DISTREE Middle East will give the Office 1 Gulf team the opportunity to hold pre-scheduled meetings with dozens of consumer technology brands looking to launch, build or manage their routes-to-market in the Middle East.

“We have a wealth of experience in the market, an advanced service centre and offer excellent post-sales support to customers,” added Hammad. “The market is growing fast but we see more competition each year and margins become tighter. We want support from vendors that will enable us to offer the best prices and services to our customers.”

Hammad continued: “E-tail has a big future in the market and we expect big growth in E-tail in the next few years as customers use smartphones and tablets more and more. We have an online store for all our products and e-purchase is simple and secure through our website.”

Office 1 Gulf struck new agreements with both Samsung and HP in 2015, and the company is keen to maintain a strong business performance in 2016. While oil prices have had an impact on market health, Hammad is expecting a strong recovery in 2017.

“It is a challenging market at the moment and that is why creativity in terms of both products and marketing is essential to grab consumer attention,” Hammad concluded.

By uniting vendors, distributors, retailers and e-tailers of consumer technology products in one place at one time, DISTREE Middle East will provide a wealth of opportunities for brands at every stage of development to innovate and accelerate their go-to-market approach across the region.
