Seagate confirmed for DISTREE Brazil & Latin America 2015

Storage vendor Seagate will join a vast array of consumer technology vendors participating at next week’s DISTREE Brazil & Latin America event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The highly-focused channel event allows participating brands to pre-schedule one-on-one meetings with senior executives and buyers from the region’s leading retailers, e-tailers and distributors.

Samantha Soifer, senior sales manager for Latin America at Seagate, said: “Our goal is to promote the Seagate brand with channel delegates, launch new external hard drive products and also establish business relationships with new partners.”

Seagate will showcase its entire line-up of external lard drives at the event as well as network attached storage (NAS) solutions for home users and small and medium enterprises.

“We want our customers to know that Seagate has the most complete line-up of products in the market, combining first class technology with excellent support,” added Soifer.

Seagate is a market leader in the external hard drive category in Brazil, with a long track record of working with channel partners to differentiate its offering and create margin opportunities.

“For example, one product we will promote at the event is our external hard drive designed exclusively for use with an Xbox,” explained Soifer. “Our vast product line-up allows resellers to differentiate their offering and not just compete on price.”

Seagate works closely with Latin American channel partners to determine promotional plans and marketing actions. The vendor continues to see growth opportunities across the region.

“The demand for storage continues to grow exponentially in Latin America,” added Soifer. “This is driven by trends such as mobility, sharing, remote access and the proliferation of devices connected to the internet. This all leads to greater consumption and creation of data that must be stored somewhere.”

“It also means that storage needs today is are not just related to the PC or laptop, but also to devices such as game consoles, tablets and smartphones,” she explained.

“The Seagate strategy is the same worldwide. Make room for the human experience. Seagate works for all people - from young people taking pictures on their mobile phones to large companies creating huge databases. We help expand the way they interact with the information,” Soifer continued.
