Stone Group adds Toshiba to NDNA portfolio

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 7 July 2015

Stone Group, a UK-based ICT services provider to the public sector, has become an appointed Toshiba reseller on the National Desktop and Notebook Agreement (NDNA), which is worth some £310m (US$480m). Stone Group can now offer the quality and innovation of Toshiba’s full notebook, 2-in-1 and tablet offerings along with a full range of value-added services to all UK institutions associated with the framework.

Stone Group’s appointment on the NDNA framework is now far reaching across the three lots: lot 1 (desktop PCs) for the supply of Stone and Acer desktops; lot 2 (notebook PCs) for the supply of Toshiba, Acer and Samsung mobile devices; lot 3 (one-stop-shop) for the provision of desktop, notebook and tablet devices. Stone Group previously supplied Stone, Samsung and Acer devices on the framework but now adds Toshiba to its portfolio.

“We are thrilled to be part of the NDNA framework again and by signing with Toshiba we are able to broaden and enhance our portfolio for the higher education market,” said Simon Harbridge, CEO of Stone Group. “This partnership further builds on the work we have done with Toshiba over the last 10 years on significant education programmes such as the home access scheme. The strength of the brand, coupled with product excellence, made them an obvious partnership for us.”

Lee Sanvitale, higher education business development lead at Toshiba, said: “We are delighted to be adding Stone to our list of approved suppliers under the NDNA. Stone has an excellent heritage in supplying the higher education community, so we are very much looking forward to working with them to provide Toshiba’s innovative notebooks and mobile technology into this market.”

Central to devices provided by Stone Group through the contract is the service offering, which includes customisation of the device, imaging, asset tagging, install-to-desk, maintenance and recycling.

As a Toshiba Authorised Service Provider, Stone Group is able to undertake hardware maintenance work both at Stone’s Staffordshire-based repair centre and in the field. This will give Stone Group customers the same support experience across all three NDNA lots, regardless of vendor.

The NDNA contract is open to all consortium-affiliated Universities and Colleges of Higher and Further Education, together with the Research Councils and other Member Institutions in all six of the regional consortia.
