Logicom eyes African channel expansion

French device brand Logicom plans to expand its presence in Africa and will use the upcoming DISTREE Africa 2015 channel event to meet potential partners from across the region. Rédha Abdessemed, EMEA sales manager at Logicom, said: “The key goal is to make Logicom known across the territory as an innovative French expert in smartphones, tablets and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The aim at DISTREE Africa is to sign partnerships with channel partners within target markets.”

Logicom will showcase its range of 3G and LTE smartphones, plus feature phones, tablets and IoT solutions. The brand believes it offers a compelling value proposition based on affordable pricing and solid margin potential for channel partners.

Abdessemed added: “Logicom is expanding fast in Europe outside France, and also now in North and West Africa. The demand for reliable and affordable products is growing, driven by mass market demand. We are also seeing a rapid move from feature phones to smartphones.”

“The retail market clearly represents the greatest opportunity in Africa. Our offers are perfectly aligned with the market and consumer needs. Our product design, quality and affordability allow channel partners a generous margin while bringing a unique proposition to consumers. This is Logicom’s win-win strategy. We are also developing our team and ensuring local presence in key African markets to offer the best possible support,” he added.

When launching in a new market, Logicom works closely with its in-country partner to put in place the best possible go-to-market plan using PR activities and marketing. Logicom claims that its presence and brand recognition is growing quickly in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. Now the company wants to replicate this success in other African markets and is on the lookout for channel partners that can help it achieve its goals.
