Middle East distribution giant Aptec has boosted its in-house Avaya team with the arrival of Mohammad Mutlaq and Prince Acharya. Mutlaq – an Avaya certified specialist – will serve as a technical specialist within Aptec offering channel partners pre-sales support, proof of concepts and technical training. Acharya joins Aptec in a sales capacity and will focus on pushing Avaya’s fast-moving Quick Edition product line.
"As the authorised distributor for Avaya’s SMB products and solutions, we now have the largest team working with our partners to offer the best solutions to their customers in the GCC," said Sabbahuddin Khan, business unit manager for networking at Aptec Distribution. "The addition to our team should see a considerable increase in our market share of Avaya business in the region while we offer true value to our loyal partners."
Khalid Khan, SMB manager at Avaya MENA, commented: "We are happy to see Aptec invest in expanding their Avaya team. Aptec’s increase in Avaya resources is in line with the tremendous growth in business we have experienced in the Gulf market, especially after the recent launch of Avaya’s Quick Edition platform."
Avaya emphasises the importance of technically certified resources at distributors so that resellers can be fully supported on both pre-sales and post-sales. According to Avaya, Aptec plays a major role in expanding its business and partner base for the SMB range of products in the GCC markets.
"We have full confidence that Aptec can help us establish Avaya IP telephony as the dominant technology in the SMB voice segment," added Avaya’s Khan. Aptec also plans to hold an Avaya inventory of critical spares to ensure that partners can access these immediately when the need arises.
