Aerohive arrives in EMEA

by Stuart Wilson, Monday 26 May 2008

Aerohive Networks has opened a European office and confirmed a number of distribution agreements across EMEA. Aerohive, which offers the wireless LAN access point HiveAP, has opened a UK office staffed by six sales and technical staff. Gareth Green, VP EMEA sales at Aerohive, will lead the regional team.

Aerohive has appointed several distribution partners, including VADition in the UK, IPVista in France, Seicom in Germany, Exclusive Networks in Belgium and Spain, Heathcom in Norway, and Computerlinks in the Middle East.

"Building on our growing reputation and the increasing market traction of our controller-less wireless LAN architecture, the time is right to invest in and enter the EMEA marketplace," said Sheen Khoury, executive VP, sales and field operations at Aerohive.

"We have appointed a widely experienced and successful team of personnel and partners to launch our EMEA operations and to bring the cost and performance benefits of our cooperative control wireless LAN architecture to enterprises in the region," Khoury continued.

Before joining Aerohive, Green was VP EMEA for Network Engines, where he was responsible for sales, channels, and strategic partner alliances. Gareth has also served as VP enterprise for Juniper Networks and as VP EMEA for NetScreen Technologies, where he helped establish NetScreen as a key network security vendor in the EMEA marketplace.

Barrie Desmond, business development director at VADition, commented: "Aerohive’s unique cooperative control wireless LAN architecture is easier to deploy and scale, costs less, and has higher performance and more resilience than controller-based architectures. As enterprises consider the deployment of high-throughput 802.11n, the controller-less Aerohive architecture, which eliminates latency, jitter, and bottlenecks, will become even more compelling to our customers."

Aerohive Networks’ cooperative control enterprise wireless LAN architecture provides all the management, mobility, and security of controller-based architectures without the cost, capacity, performance, and availability issues associated with controller deployments, according to the vendor.
