Armenia’s LED plans portfolio expansion

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 11 November 2014

Next year’s DISTREE EMEA channel event in Monaco will once again unite brands with the region’s leading retailers, e-tailers and distributors of technology and consumer electronics (CE) products. Channel EMEA is an official Media Partner for DISTREE EMEA 2015. Over the next few months we will profile attending companies and bring you up to speed with channel insights from across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. First stop is Armenia where we catch up with LED Computers.

David Yavrumyan, general director at LED Computers, said: “I’m attending DISTREE EMEA 2015 to develop new contacts with major brands, with a view of opening up new import channels into Armenia. Our main focus is on computer products, components and accessories.”

“Market conditions in Armenia are fair at the moment and business is developing. We are expecting to see 15% market growth in 2015. The main issues we face are making sure that we can obtain good prices, adequate stock and fair warranty conditions,” added Yavruyman.

LED Computers offers a comprehensive portfolio of computers and peripherals as well as repair services for customers. The company is also active in the business-to-business channel and is also keen to win more government contracts in Armenia.

“We plan to add an extra two or three brands in the next 12 months to improve our portfolio,” added Yavruyman. “It is difficult to make any forecasts about sales and margins in 2015 as the laws, taxes and market situation can change rapidly in Armenia, but we’re doing everything we possibly can to make LED Computers a stable business.”

“LED Computers has been active in the Armenian market for 13 years and has a network of five stores and a dedicated service centre. We are well-positioned to support IT vendors in Armenia and look forward to meeting more potential partners at DISTREE EMEA 2015.

The most recent DISTREE EMEA event gathered 350 senior distribution executives from 290 different companies, plus 130 senior buyers from 110 of Europe’s top technology and CE retailers and e-tailers. The delegate base included distributors from 65 countries in EMEA and retailers from 32 countries.

During the four-day event this exclusive channel community participated in thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with 400-plus vendor executives, representing more than 150 separate brands.

DISTREE EMEA 2015 takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from February 24-27th. For more information on how to register for next year’s event, visit www.distree-emea.com
