Bitdefender ready to extend APAC channel reach

Antivirus software vendor Bitdefender is poised to extend its channel reach in Asia Pacific (APAC), appointing additional distributors within the region. Maciej Dziobek, business development manager at Bitdefender, said: “We are attending regional channel event DISTREE APAC [in October] where we will seek reputable and well-established distributors who can help us take our brand to new markets, introducing our portfolio into business, consumer and online channels.”

“These distributors should be experienced in the software industry, IT security, managing channels, technical support and marketing. These partners will provide added value in terms of distribution and branding and will act as brand ambassadors in their markets,” Dziobek added.

DISTREE APAC, which takes place in Singapore from October 8th to 10th, gathers senior executives from the region’s top technology distributors and retailers in one place at one time. Participating vendors are able to analyse the delegate list prior to the event and pre-schedule one-on-one meetings with the partners that meet their precise channel business needs in the region.

Bitdefender’s portfolio caters to both consumer and business customers.

“Bitdefender secures several operating systems - Windows, Android and Mac. VARs and systems integrators will be excited by Bitdefender’s business solutions including security for MSPs, Gravity Zone for securing and optimising virtual environments, plus security for endpoints including security for SMBs, on-premise and cloud-based solutions,” explained Dziobek.

Dziobek continued: “Since we launched and promoted solutions for virtual environments – Bitdefender Gravity Zone and Bitdefender Small Office Security – we have noticed a stunning increase in interest for these solutions in channels, mostly in the US and Europe. As the trend expands, we want to share with our existing and potential Asian partners our experience and opportunities in the fast-growing segments of virtualisation, cloud and managed services.”

“Considering the large number of resellers who joined the Bitdefender Partner Advantage Network (PAN) programme, we are also looking for companies who want to strategically take our products into local markets and invest in them on an exclusive basis,” Dziobek continued.

Bitdefender has already noticed an increase in interest from channel partners in Australia, Thailand and the Philippines. The vendor is also keen to take advantage of the fast growth of the IT security market in China, Japan and Korea.

“Though the entry barrier to these markets is high, we think a perfect blend of our innovative technologies and dedicated local partners will bring success,” commented Dziobek.

“We are not looking for box-moving distributors who wait for orders to come from the market. We are proud of our distributors, re-publishers and virtual-oriented companies such as our partners VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Red Hat and others, because they provide added value.”

Bitdefender PAN rewards a wide network of security resellers in more than 100 countries. The programme is designed for country partners, distributors and resellers.

“The benefits and requirements increase as our partners gain experience in selling and delivering our solutions. PAN has three membership levels: bronze, silver, and gold,” said Dziobek.

As partners rise through the PAN programme they are rewarded through various elements including margins, discounts, account protection, support and training. Bitdefender expects to double its APAC business in 2014 and repeat this growth rate in 2015.

“The growth is supported not only by new channel partner recruitment, increased online sales and team expansion, but also by the innovations, ambitious product development, improvements and technological advantage that keep Bitdefender a step ahead of the competition,” claimed Dziobek.

“Bitdefender is a very channel-friendly company. We have a structured approach towards channels, which is reflected in our continuous efforts invested in PAN,” Dziobek concluded.
