Ctroniq to showcase smartphone watch

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 13 May 2014

Next week’s DISTREE Middle East will have a strong focus on the growing retail demand for wearables in the region. One brand planning to make its mark is Ctroniq, represented by Middle East partner Headlinks. Shaik Jamal Atheeq Ahmed, general manager at Headlinks, believes the event provides the perfect opportunity for the brand to develop strong relationships with top retailers and e-tailers.

Ctroniq’s portfolio includes smartwatch phones, plus tablets, tablet accessories, Android TV, power banks and Bluetooth speakers.

Ahmed commented: “We’re attending DISTREE Middle East to listen to the retailers to understand more about the evolution that is happening in terms of consumer demands and mindset.”

“We also want to speak about what we are doing in terms of building a family of smartwatches aimed at different family members – one for him, one for her and one aimed specifically at children,” Ahmed added.

Ctroniq reckons that creating a family of smartwatches will resonate in a region where family shopping trips are a popular leisure activity. Ctroniq plans to position itself as a brand offering a complete spectrum of smart products offering clear value-added sales potential for retailers.

“We realise the retailers in region are getting more matured in terms of understanding the demands of the consumer,” commented Ahmed.

Ctroniq continues to grow its regional distribution and retail network and will use DISTREE Middle East to further accelerate this process. Ahmed believes that the Ctroniq E380 3G smartwatch phone offers a viable route into the growing wearables market for the region’s retailers and e-tailers.

Ctroniq has already linked up with Middle East e-tailer Souq.com across multiple markets creating solid brand awareness in the region. The next step for the company is to build on this online platform and open up sales channels through additional retailers.

“We have a healthy margin proposition for retail partners,” said Ahmed. “We work in a way that allows retailers to really innovate and improvise in terms of marketing activities.”

2013 was a pivotal year for Headlinks in terms of structuring the Middle East distribution channel for the Ctroniq brand. 2014 will see continued expansion with plans to expand channel reach in the Levant and CIS regions as well.

“Ctroniq has grown exponentially in the GCC and Africa with our products striking a winning balance between quality and affordability,” continued Ahmed.

Ctroniq is a UK-based brand with Headlinks responsible for building distribution channels across the Middle East, Africa, CIS, Levant and Asia.

Ctroniq will also take part in the Wearables LIVE demonstration on stage at DISTREE Middle East on Wednesday May 21st.
