Dell authorises Asbis for Croatia

Hardware giant Dell has named Asbis as an authorised distributor in Croatia. The deal extends Dell’s successful existing distribution relationship with Asbis, which covers Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Belarus, Turkey, Slovenia, Cyprus and the Middle East. Asbis has carved out a strong reputation as a distributor off hardware and software in the emerging markets of EMEA.

Andrew Nicholson, country manager at Dell, said: “Dell is actively focusing on the SMB and consumer market in Croatia and Dell sees the appointment of Asbis as a further step to provide customers with the greater availability and choice in Croatia. With the launch of the new Inspiron and Vostro products we believe that Dell has a very competitive and unique offering for the Croatian market.”

Tomislav Kovač, Asbis Croatia sales director, commented: “During almost 10 years of our local operations, we have established a strong position on IT market, growing even faster than the market itself. With the help of channel partners, Asbis Croatia has achieved tremendous results distributing products of several major worldwide vendors, such as Intel, AMD, Seagate, Hitachi GST, and many more. Our efforts have been recognised by one of the world’s largest A-brand manufacturers, Dell, with which we plan to strengthen its operations on the Croatian market, especially focusing on consumer and SMB segments.”

The new agreement covers Dell’s laptops, PCs, monitors and enterprise products. Asbis will focus on providing Dell’s solutions to the consumer and SMB market in Croatia. Asbis Croatia will begin supplying Dell products to its channel partners before the end of May 2008 and will ensure full stock availability towards mid June. For the notebook market, Asbis will offer Dell’s Inspiron, Latitude, Vostro and XPC lines, as well as gaming play stations. Asbis is a leading IT distributor based in Cyprus. Asbis has subsidiaries in 23 countries, 900 employees, 20,000 customers and achieved sales of US$1.4billion in 2007.
