BitDefender finds Focus for UK push

Internet security software outfit BitDefender has struck a national marketing and distribution agreement with Focus Multimedia in the UK. Focus, a software publishing house specialising in home computer and small office products, will push BitDefender products into major UK retailers over the coming weeks.
Nick Billington, country manager at BitDefender described the deal as ‘an important milestone for the UK’.
“In two years we have established the BitDefender brand as a trusted supplier of antivirus and malware protection countermeasures,” he said. “This agreement with Focus is central to our strategy for going forward with channel partners who can offer the expertise to support national distribution through major retail outlets.”
A global network of value-added distribution and reseller partners in more than 100 countries worldwide distributes BitDefender solutions. BitDefender provides internationally certified security software.
Focus Multimedia is one of the UK’s leading publishers of PC software. Since the company’s launch in 1997, more than 21 million units of Focus software have been sold through the retail channel. The Focus range consists of over 400 high quality software titles and features many of the world’s best-known brands and character licences.
Focus claims that its products are sold in more than 5,200 points of sale throughout the UK and Ireland. Focus also offers extensive merchandising activities and retail support.
