by Stuart Wilson, Monday 14 April 2008

File-transfer technology provider Aspera has officially launched an EMEA operation and is on the lookout for resellers and technology partners to drive its growth. Aspera has appointed Bruce Brewer as EMEA sales director to spearhead the company’s channel expansion. Aspera will also develop a new marketing organisation to better serve its international customer base.

Aspera claims that that more and more individuals and organisations are seeking the best solution to move file-based data securely over low-cost global networks at maximum speed and within guaranteed timeframes. Brewer joins Aspera from software development company Anystream where he held the position of director of European sales.

“We are thrilled to bring Bruce’s extensive international experience to Aspera,” said Jim Atkinson, Aspera’s VP of sales and business development. “The global nature of our solutions offering is fuelling our international growth and presenting Aspera with great business expansion opportunities.”

“While our solid position in the Asia-Pacific region is secured by our partnership with Netmarks, our success in diverse, channel-based European markets requires establishing a direct presence. Bruce is an extremely talented sales executive who excels at building high-technology businesses and we look forward to his leadership in the EMEA region,” Atkinson added.

Based in Belgium, Brewer will assume responsibility for all aspects of sales and business development for Aspera in the EMEA region. “Aspera has successfully established its breakthrough technology as a market leader in multiple industries. I am thrilled to join Aspera’s world class team of technology and business innovators, to support international expansion in a thriving European marketplace where the demand for high-speed file transfer solutions is expanding in a multitude of market verticals,” said Brewer.

Aspera has also recruited Francois Quereuil to the newly created position of Director of Marketing. Quereuil comes from Digidesign, the audio division of Avid Technology, where he held senior marketing management positions in France, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“Aspera has literally created new markets by pioneering the next-generation of high-speed file transfer technology and providing solutions that address the fundamental and universal need for moving large files and media globally,” said Quereuil. “I am excited to join Aspera’s talented group of visionaries and support the company’s explosive growth in multiple markets, both domestically and internationally.”

Michelle Munson, Aspera president and co-founder, said: “Francois brings a wealth of expertise to Aspera and an impressive track-record marketing highly-technical products and solutions to international audiences. We look forward to Francois’ contributions as we are entering the next stage of Aspera’s development.”

Aspera wants to boost its sales coverage model with a select number of value-added resellers and strategic technology partnerships. Interested resellers can e-mail to find out more.
