Avnet bags EMEA eCopy rights

by Stuart Wilson, Monday 14 April 2008

Value-added distributor Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) has picked up EMEA rights for eCopy’s document imaging solutions. eCopy provides solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications. eCopy solutions will initially be available to ATS’ channel partners in the UK before the distribution agreement is extended throughout EMEA.

“There is significant demand from our channel partners to provide a complete document management solution,” said David Lewis, managing director for software at ATS EMEA. “By adding eCopy to our portfolio, our partners will be able to offer a comprehensive solution that includes scanners, document management and document imaging software. This is a winning combination for end users, because it enables any office worker to manage paper and electronic documents, providing the tools needed to address document productivity, security and regulatory compliance requirements.”

ATS will offer a number of eCopy software products to its channel partners including eCopy Desktop - PC software that improves productivity by enabling office workers to use desktop scanners to capture documents and create PDF files. ATS will also offer eCopy ShareScan Suite - an all-encompassing document scanning solution for business process efficiency with enterprise application connectivity.”

“eCopy software is designed to make it easy for any office worker to scan documents directly into business applications,” said Alan Cornwell, eCopy general manager for Europe. “There is significant market opportunity for Avnet channel partners to be among the first to offer our new scanner software products and provide end users with eCopy’s direct integration to more than 85 business software systems. eCopy software provides a natural yet powerful extension to the solutions that Avnet partners are already offering.”

With more than 75,000 units sold, eCopy claims that it is the market leader in MFP document imaging software. eCopy customers include GE, Time Warner Inc., Yahoo, Nissan, Verizon Wireless, BP, Sprint, General Motors, Siemens, Cisco Systems, SAAB, and Sony Corporation.
