Blue Coat charms Middle East channel

by Stuart Wilson, Friday 11 April 2008

Blue Coat Systems gathered together its top distributors, systems integrators and resellers from across the Middle East for its recent channel partner conference held at the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event was Blue Coat’s biggest channel conference to date in the Middle East and drew resellers from 14 countries keen to find out more on market trends, operation updates and regional sales progress.

Senior Blue Coat executives were also on hand to provide up-to-date information on the company’s latest WAN optimisation and web security products. “This conference was an outstanding opportunity to bring together key partners from throughout the Middle East region to discuss WAN application delivery, our evolving approach to WAN optimisation, and to provide them with the tools, resources and information they need expand their business in the region and be more successful,” said Nidal Taha, regional director at Blue Coat Systems Middle East.

“Businesses are starting to invest in WAN optimisation to accelerate centralised applications and reduce branch office bandwidth costs, improve or maintain application availability and simplify IT infrastructure globally,” added Taha.

“Businesses can benefit from Blue Coat WAN application delivery by providing their employees and partners with real-time access to important applications and services, which in turn increases employee productivity and customer loyalty,” he continued.

Blue Coat claims that the performance of remote applications across the WAN is becoming more critical to businesses around the globe as companies as organisations now have more employees working remotely or in branch offices. IT managers, who are faced with the challenge of cutting costs while still improving performance, are turning to WAN optimisation tools designed to increase effective throughput and decrease network lag time.

Blue Coat partners were upbeat about what they had heard at the channel conference. “As we expected, this conference provided a platform to strengthen our knowledge and ability to sell and support Blue Coat products and solutions,” commented Amro Zarroug, sales and business development manager at Al- Falak Systems, Solutions and Consulting in Saudi Arabia. “Blue Coat products bring tremendous value to our customers, and it is important for us to continue growing our expertise to serve them.”
