Merlion grabs Gingle rights

by Stuart Wilson, Monday 31 March 2008

Russian distribution giant Merlion has struck an exclusive distribution deal with Gingle Technology to sell the vendor’s portfolio of RAM products. The products are now available to Merlion’s extensive dealer network in Russia.

Under the terms of the deal, Merlion has been granted exclusive distribution rights across the entire Russian Federation and CIS countries. Promising quality products at reasonable prices, Merlion is stocking Gingle RAM modules. Memory modules DDR and DDRII will be supplied in the most popular specification – 512MB and 1GB.

Gingle Technology is an affiliate of the A-Data group and PowerChip Semiconductor Corporation. Gingle plans to sell on a global basis through distributors and to expand the scale of its business through the development of its brand name in the DRAM and flash memory market segments.

Simon Chen established Gingle in 2007 with US$4.5m capital. The company uses manufacturing facilities in HsinChu, Taiwan and Suzhou, China. The company’s product portfolio spans flash memory cards, USB flash drives and DRAM modules.

Merlion bills itself as Russia’s number one technology distributor and works with approximately 70 vendor partners. The company sells through a network of 1,200 dealers throughout the Russian Federation.
