Blouin takes on tough job at Bell

by Stuart Wilson, Wednesday 26 March 2008

Bell Microproducts has named Marc Blouin as VP finance and chief accounting officer. In his new role Bouin will look after Bell’s accounting operations and corporate accounting functions, such as consolidations, SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Blouin faces a tough first few weeks at Bell. The company was delisted from NASDAQ last week for failing to file overdue reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“Marc’s long history in financial management, coupled with his successful track record in the technology industry, is an ideal complement to our strong management team,” said Bill Meyer, Bell Microproducts’ CFO. “We have aggressive plans for the coming years, and Marc’s highly relevant industry experience is certain to help Bell Microproducts achieve its goals.”

Blouin has two decades of accounting and finance experience and served most recently as VP finance and corporate controller at PLM solutions vendor Agile Software. Blouin worked at Agile for eight years prior to the company’s recent acquisition by Oracle.

“Joining Bell Microproducts, one of the leading international value-added distributors in the world, is extremely exciting for me,” commented Blouin. “I look forward to being part of this strong company and its impressive executive team.”
