ComTrade opens new retail outlet

by Stuart Wilson, Thursday 2 April 2009

South East Europe IT powerhouse ComTrade Group has opened its latest retail outlet in Belgrade, Serbia. The latest ComTrade shop has opened in the Usce shopping centre, enhancing the retailer’s reputation as a leading supplier of consumer ICT kit in the country. The latest outlet covers some 750 square metres and stocks products from 40-plus vendors.

Products on display include notebooks, desktops, monitors, mobile phones, digital cameras, gaming equipment and IT accessories. The store also boasts an upgrade point, offering customers the chance to upgrade notebooks and PCs on the spot or for minor repairs to be carried out. The ComTrade outlet also has a dedicated zone for gamers.

ComTrade also hopes to lure customers with its own branded credit card offering for consumers requiring credit to finance their purchases. The store also plans regular promotions and discount offers.

The ComTrade Group employs some 1,600 staff and offers a complete range of IT-based services and solutions including distribution through CT Computers. With annual growth in the range of 40% and operations spanning 14 countries and three continents, annual sales are in excess of US$375m.

Since its establishment in 1991, a single shareholder – its founder and president Veselin Jevrosimović - owned ComTrade Group. In 2008, Unicredit became the second shareholder by acquiring 21.05% of ComTrade Group.
