Belkin boosts MEA channel team

by Stuart Wilson, Tuesday 24 March 2009

Networking and peripherals vendor Belkin has boosted its Middle East and Africa channel team, recruiting Youssef El-Arif as national account manager for the region. The appointment, which forms part of Belkin’s regional expansion plans, will see El-Arif assume responsibility for managing partner relations with retailers and distributors. He will also be tasked with developing new territories and raising the profile of the Belkin brand across the Middle East and Africa.

“I look forward to playing an integral role in strengthening the brand’s presence across different markets in the MEA region. My main objective is to help Belkin achieve its business objectives here and this goes hand in hand with working closely with and supporting our partners who are on the ground to increase our market and mind share,’ said El-Arif.

El-Arif has a strong IT background with his most recent position as sales specialist, West and Central Africa at Acer. Prior to this he was operations manager for Compuleb based in Nigeria.

”We welcome El-Arif on board and are confident that his contribution to Belkin’s future growth in this region will be of great value,’ said Patrick Hayati, regional director at Belkin Middle East.
