Logitech hands Heid global role

Peripherals and accessories vendor Logitech has appointed Werner Heid as senior VP of worldwide sales and marketing. In his new role Heid will assume responsibility for worldwide sales and regional marketing for Logitech, including the vendor’s retail sales in EMEA, the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. Heid will also oversee worldwide sales to OEM customers and will report directly to Gerald Quindlen, president and CEO at Logitech.

"Werner brings an outstanding background to Logitech and a proven track record for achieving growth, focusing on customers and building market share in a variety of businesses, cultures and geographies. He has a broad understanding of the consumer electronics business and we believe will offer a tremendous contribution to our leadership team."

Heid previously served for five years as the president and CEO of Iomega Corporation, a provider of consumer and small-business data-storage solutions. Before joining Iomega, Heid was the executive VP of global sales and marketing for InFocus, a leading supplier of multimedia projection systems for consumers and business. He joined the company when InFocus acquired Proxima Corporation, where Heid served as president. Prior to taking on his leadership role at Proxima, Heid was with HP for 12 years, in both Europe and the United States. At HP, he led the business definition and the successful global market launch of the vendor’s all-in-one and colour copier product businesses.
