DISTREE Events launches Smart Channels summit to focus on retailing connected devices, wearables and IoT

DISTREE Events has launched a new summit series focused on how the retail channel will evolve to deliver smart technologies, solutions and services to consumers. The new session, entitled ‘Smart Channels: Retailing Connected Devices, Wearables and Internet of Things (IoT)’, will make its debut at DISTREE APAC in Singapore in October 2014. Insight appoints Kaatz as EMEA VP

Technology supplier Insight has announced the appointment of Alexander Kaatz as VP sales and marketing EMEA. Kaatz, joins Insight from Systematic Inventive Thinking. Before that he spent 12 years at Microsoft in various senior sales and marketing positions. Read full story

TP-Link targets small businesses through Staples

Networking vendor TP-Link has announced a deal to push its products through Staples stores in the UK, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. The deal reiterates the growing ability for vendors to reach small business and small office home office (SOHO) customers through traditional European retail channels. The evolving retail-to-business (R2B) channels also offers incremental revenue and profit opportunities for retailers. Read full story
